A Few Hoorahs!
Cheese!
I finished the Giant Giant Granny Square I have been working on for my bed, it's quite comfy may I add. Although I feel I wont be finished with it just yet, I still want to add the last 10 rows but got project ADD and needed a change. Its functional. Its pretty. Its fine as is for now.
Ooh pretty.
I also worked on a new pattern from Moogly. The Eloise Sweater. It was so cute and I could just see my Little Star wearing it. And I have never made a sweater before. Ever. So it was a fun challenge. I also mastered the Foundation Double Crochet and Chainless starting DC. I delved into my stash and came out with some left over Vannas Choice yarn in Silver Heather, Scarlet, Terracotta, Aqua, and Fern. After I was done the skirt, which I had to start over a few times (I think the pattern had one too many turns in it.) I realized I wouldn't have enough Silver Heather to complete the bodice, So I had to break out the remnants of Silver Grey I had. I was wary of the two different greys looking bad. But everyone assured me that it wasn't so bad. I only had enough to make short sleeves (two rounds each.) I did not have enough to do the final grey edging. Some how (though I counted twice) I ended up with too many stitches around the bodice and had to modify my pattern without really understanding what I was modifying (never having made a sweater before.) But now I know what is wrong with it, and I have vowed to try again. (If at first you don't succeed.) I will try again with the suggested yarn (Lion's Brand Wool-ease.) Not make the same mistakes and maybe even try different colors. Also I think I may have needed to use a smaller hook with the difference in the yarn. I also have not added buttons.
My husband has said it's her renn faire dress. (it really does look like a medieval doublet.)
I am not ashamed. (I also stretched it to make it look better. shhh)
Finally, I started my "knitknatknockoff" I will explain more about that later on a page about it but here's some yummy pictures to consider.

Happy Day...
Lots of exciting things to look forward to. My phone came back from samsung. Living with 3g for a week was a nightmare. None of the apps work, couldnt update them. I used to think I wasnt addicted to technology. Guess I was wrong. O:-)
Deramores finally got three of the remaining four colors of stylecraft special dk in stock that I need for a project I'm planning next. The fourth color I have some left over from a previous project I hope is enough. Already ordered it and just waiting for it to get here. The project I have dubbed knitknackknockoff... it's not original by any means but its what I was asked to make so who am I to argue :) I will post more on it's progress once I get started. The scraps even already have a project or two in queue. So really cant wait to get started.
Progress on my bed conforter is going fast. Really happy with it thus far. More in this can be found on its posting under projects. One thing I dont like about bloggers app is the inability to post on/ create pages. So I actually have to fire up the ole compy and post on it.
Welp thats it for the time being. Nap time is over and I am being summoned.

In the beginning...
In the beginning there was a girl and some yarn. This girl was very pregnant and needed to keep her feet up and so she decided to pick up her hooks and get to it.
That's how the craziness started. The crochet craziness. My grandmother taught me once upon a long time ago. It just seemed the logical thing to do to pass the time (I'm sorry I've been watching Star Trek: TOS.) I've been posting my work on Ravelry and on Instagram and I've been getting better and better at it as I go. Through my travels I also found that I wanted to share my thoughts and experiences with certain patterns and yarns. I always do my research before using a new yarn or a new pattern and sometimes I luck out and find blog posts on the matter.
So, I figured what the heck, let's give this blogging thing a go. Will I keep up with it? Probably not. But we can give it a go and see. Starting the blog was probably the hardest part. Absolutely no domain names available. Darn Those Ends just seemed appropriate. It's my absolute least favorite of any project, and usually once I've darned them they get loose after a while and make beautiful pieces look absolutely dingy. So here's to the beginning. Cheers!
