Granny Stripes

I thought Id take some time to add a previously finished project for your viewing pleasure. Its the one featured as my background. I just love it. It's sunggly and cheery and happy. The pattern is the ever popular granny stripes from Lucy at Attic24. The yarn is left over Stylecraft Special DK from a giant granny square I did in painted crochet. Its so snuggly and cheap (I love cheap yarn that also looks and feels great.)

Does not that make you happy? It comfortably fits on the back and seat of a 3 seater couch. Long enough to cover my hubby and wide enough to fit us both. Or double it up for a warmer blanket for one.

Darning the ends was a nightmare. I decdied to sew the ends back into the work so the border wouldn't bunch. I normally hook over the ends into the border for better staying power but it never turns out nice. I am still looking for the best way to handle the ends. I am certain that it is everyone else's nightmare as well. After some use as a blanket and fort they are already coming loose. But the border looks fantastic!

I also followed Lucy's border. I was going to make up my own but by the end of it I was ready to move on so we have :: Magenta granny clusters followed by Sunshine and Shrimp DC (TC for you Brits) a Wisteria SC row (DC) and then Lucy's mini picot in Magenta.

Love this yarn so much I just ordered a ton more for another project.
